Comic book fans of all ages: get ready for the ninth annual Schomburg Black Comic Book Festival, the virtual edition!
Each year, the Schomburg Center’s Black Comic Book Festival brings creators, illustrators, writers, and independent publishers together with thousands of collectors, blerds, and nerds for two days of programming and activities. The highly-anticipated community event includes interactive panel discussions, a vendor marketplace featuring exclusive titles by Black creators, a cosplay show, and more.
Black Comic Book Festival participants are encouraged to wear their favorite cosplay costumes and to register for the annual cosplay show (details TBA).
The Schomburg Center 's Black Comic Book Festival receives support from the Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation.

New Accessions | Black Comix
Join us for a close-up look at some of our newest acquisitions. Rhonda Evans of the Schomburg Center shares three remarkable independently-published comic books by Black creators: Is'Nana The Were-Spider, by Greg Anderson Elysée; Wash Day, by Jamila Rowser and Robyn Smith; and Harriet Tubman: Demon Slayer, by David Crownson. Also: Evans talks to Crownson about his work, and shows him some historical comics from the Schomburg Center. Produced and directed by Charles Cuykendall Carter.
